The Gifts in your Personality

At the entrance of the temple of Apollo at Delphi there is the inscription "Know thyself”. The most well known of the Delphic maxims has been the core of the ancient Greek culture, philosophy, mythology and the arts; and has inspired civilisations throughout the centuries. The idea of a person on a life journey that encounters their inner and outer realities in the pursuit of knowledge with openness and curiosity. A life that is an adventure of knowledge.

Those arriving at Delphi to meet the oracle knew that they will not receive a prescriptive instruction about the future; but a symbolic statement more like a poem to help them identify their strengths and weakness and decide of their action based on the knowledge of their own self. In an unknown world of challenges and opportunities, the self becomes a compass that can offer guidance to those who have the knowledge.

C G Jung, inspired by ancient Greek culture and other ancient cultures and mythologies, pioneered new ways to explore and understand the self and has coined numerous terms that have entered everyday language such as introversion-extroversion; archetypes; persona; and collective unconscious. His work on personality was key to the process of a person becoming their authentic self, a process often described as “the hero’s journey”.

At our retreat we will use a well developed and scientifically validated test to help you identify your personality gifts and area for development based on the work of C G Jung. We will be able to explore and discuss your personality gifts in the context of your life’s journey; and how they can guide you in the future by the way you relate with yourself and others.

On a retreat with Delphi Awakening you will be guided on how to:

  • Discover your personality gifts

  • Clarify areas for development

  • Identify ways your personality gifts can help you develop constructive patterns in relationship to yourself, with a partner, friends and colleagues.
